To celebrate NVRDC's 4th anniversary providing comprehensive, holistic legal advocacy and case management to victims of all types of crime in the District, we are launching the Survivor Support Fund, our newest program to empower crime victims in achieving survivor defined justice.
The Survivor Support Fund aims to empower and foster resiliency among survivors of crime through their healing process by providing a supplemental fund to advance their access to resources and opportunities not otherwise available for them, in the hopes of minimizing the impact of trauma and alleviating any basic barriers towards recovery. This fund will be used to assist current NVRDC clients will out of pocket expenses related to the crime that are not covered by crime victims' compensation or other forms of assistance.
- $5 could provide public transportation for a client to attend a meeting related to their case
- $10 could provide a copay for medication that a client needs to take following an assault
- $20 could provide one hour of childcare for a client so they can be at a court hearing
- $50 could cover the cost of getting locks changed on a clients' home if it's not covered by crime victims' compensation
Whether it's $5 or $500, no gift is too large or too small to assist our clients in their recovery from a crime!
