BENEFITING: PROJECT ABLE INC
We are climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for the challenge! The views! Check off our bucket list! Time with our children! But more importantly CHARITY! We are trekking up Africa's highest peak on behalf of the following two non-profits.
Both focus on providing children in nearby rural communities with educational opportunities that otherwise would not be available to them. Project A.B.L.E. (Aid on Behalf of Literacy and Education): Whether it's opening a new school inTanzania or creating scholarships in Kenya, the organization invests in projects that can lift families out of poverty through education.
Komera: Dedicated to helping girls in Rwanda, this organization sponsors young scholars who are eager to pursue secondary education but lack the financial resources to do so. Although they serve different part of East Africa, Project A.B.L.E and Komera share a belief that education can inspire positive social change. Project A.B.L.E's jifundishe Free Library, located in Ngongongare, Tanzania, exemplifies this. In addition to housing 4000 books, it also hosts adult literacy classes, tutoring, a women's micro-lending program and health clinics. We will be volunteering here the day before embarking for Kilimanjaro. Our goal is to raise $5000 to support these organizations. $5000 means that two girls will be able to attend and graduate from boarding school in Rwanda. That's a combined 8 years of "everything included" education and personal development . It also means that their families will be supported to start their own businesses and lead change in their communities. We are climbing for a cause! I hope you can donate! Thank you for your support!!
