I am thrilled and proud to be a member of the Mass General Marathon Team: Fighting Kids' Cancer One Step at a Time. As many of you know, I lost my baby sister Jennifer ten years ago to sarcoma, a rare cancer that impacts soft tissue and bone in the body. Sarcoma is the second most prevalent childhood cancer. I am also a teacher of children who are ages 10 & 11, so I have a special place in my heart for children and also for those who are fighting sarcoma. As many of you also know, I just completed my first marathon and I am absolute tickled to make my second marathon Boston. Boston, coincidentally, will be held on my sister Jennifer's birthday. I hope that many people will support me in this endeavor to help children who are fighting cancer. I feel honored to be able to support children to beat this disease.
Thank you for your support of me and for all the children at MGH'S Children's Cancer Center.
