On March 16, 1997, Susan Lasky lost her six year battle with breast cancer. Fighting the disease with great courage and dignity, Suzie was strengthened by the love and support of her family and friends. Inspired by her hope and determination, The Susan F. Lasky Foundation was formed to support and make a difference in the lives of people living with cancer.
The Susan F. Lasky Cancer Foundation’s mission is to provide support to individuals who are undergoing treatment for cancer, to promote all types of cancer research, and to provide assistance for individuals and organizations whose efforts benefit cancer patients.
Our Foundation continues to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by cancer by raising more $500,000 since its inception, which has helped support a number of organizations that provide care and services to cancer patients and their families. Your continued participation has enabled the Foundation to fund the Cancer Patient Navigation Program at Rush University Medical Center, the Image Enhancement Program at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Gilda’s Club Chicago, The Art Therapy Program for the University of Illinois at Chicago Pediatric Oncology Program, the Oncology Patient Navigator program at Mt. Sinai Hospital, and the Breast Center – Breast Health Specialist’s program at Northwest Community Hospital. These programs all help to improve a cancer patient’s quality of life and exemplify the types of organizations that the Foundation seeks to suppo
