Our goal is to raise money to support the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation in memory of our beautiful daughter Sophia Elizabeth Scarr.
Sophia, lovingly known as Sparkle, had a very rare condition which compromised her cells ability to create energy. We could not think of a more suitable way to honor Sparkle than with a physical challenge - which initiated the Sweat For Sparkle cause.
We have pledged to complete 4 races every year, one for every month she was with us, in her honor and have invited friends and family to run (or walk) with us.
Funds that we raise during any of these races will go to support the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) in their mission to promote research and education for the diagnosis, treatment and cure of mitochondrial disorders and to provide support to affected individuals and families.
The first race of the year was the Green Corridor Run on Sunday May 18th in Singapore - 10.5kilometers along the historic Singapore rail track.
The second race of the year will be the upcomming Run and Raisin' 2014 on Saturday July 5th to support needy children and families in Singapore
Please feel free to join us, support the team who are running or make a donation to a good cause!

Thank you for your support!
