Our goal is to raise money to support the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation in memory of our daughter Sophia Elizabeth Scarr.
Sophia, lovingly known as Sparkle, lost her battle with a mitochondrial disorder last November at only 4 months old. Her rare condition compromised her cells ability to create energy and we couldn't think of a more suitable way to honor Sparkle than with a physical challenge.
We have pleged to complete 4 races every year (one for every month she was alive) in her honor and are inviting friends and family to run (or walk) with us.
Funds that we raise during any of these races will go to support the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) in their mission to promote research and education for the diagnosis, treatment and cure of mitochondrial disorders and to provide support to affected individuals and families.
The first race of the year is the upcoming Green Corridor Run on Sunday May 18th in Singapore - 10.5kilometers along the historic Singapore rail track.
Please feel free to join us, support the team who are running or make a donation to a good cause!
Thank you for your support!
