SweetPea is a 6 lb chihuahua that came into rescue with the Humane Society of the Ozarks due to being found stray and having a severe limp. Upon x-rays it was discovered that this wee dog had multiple broken ribs and multiple pelvic fractures. This is why she was limping and due to the placement of the fractures, she is at risk of developing many problems that could impact her health in the future if there is not surgical intervention. Since SweetPea is only 1 year old, her rehabilitation prognosis is excellent. She will be having surgery today with Dr Mark Sharp at South County Animal Hospital. Special care like this takes a toll on our budget, but we know she is worth it. Please donate so we can continue to rescue animals like SweetPea!
