BENEFITING: GRAND TRAVERSE BAY WATERSHED INITIATIVE INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 12, 2017
Michigan's lakes and rivers, particularly those up north are like precious jewels. These waters are often spring feed, allow for visibility down to amazing depths, and with few weeds and algae. They have cold and clean water capable of supporting fragile fish species like salmon and trout. I have deep appreciation for these waters and concern for their long term sustainability.
I have found the perfect event in which to participate and support, that is the Swim for the Grand Traverse Bay. This event combines my love for fresh water lake(non-chlorine) swimming, and protection of Michigan's lakes, rivers, and watersheds. In addition this event allows Suzette and Evan to participate as well by paddling the course in a support tandem kayak. Please support our team, Club Carp with a donation.
The team, so far, includes:
Eric - the swimmer
Suzette and Evan - the paddlers of the support tandem kayak
Anyone else interested in participating in this swim on our team?
All proceeds benefit The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay, which advocates for clean water in Grand Traverse Bay and acts to protect and preserve the Bay’s watershed.
