THE STORY:
Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project....
Esther Lenthall, Lee Adams, Emily Jenkin, Dan Green, Sam Wells and Alexandra Johnston will be swimming the Solent on the 28th August 2016.
A 2 1/2 mile ocean swim from Isle of Wight to Portsmouth in aid of Dolphin Project. Founded by Ric O'Barry, Dolphin Project is a non profit organisation that works tirelessly to stop the captivity and slaughter of Dolphins worldwide.
The money raised will help support their ongoing projects in Taiji and The Solomon Islands where the slaughter and captivity of Dolphins is rife. We are taking on this challenge to raise awareness and funds for a charity we passionately believe in and to show our support for the plight of Dolphins around the world, either imprisoned in captivity or subjected to slaughter. We have been, and will continue to train four/five times a week in the pool until we take on the Solent, none of us are professional swimmers so it's a tough challenge, but the Dolphins are definitely worth it!
Your support means the world and anything you can donate is greatly appreciated and is going to a worthy cause. I'm sure we clog up many of your time lines with our endless posts about the Dolphin slaughter in Taiji but please visit DolphinProject.net to find out more about the work they do and how you can get involved.
Thanks again... Wish us luck!
Esther, Lee, Emily, Dan, Sam and Alex
