As many of you have seen and heard many coastal communities in the Northeast were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Our hometown, Long Beach, NY, was devastated. Many people have lost everything they own (including their cars) and are still without power, heat and hot water. There is, however, one thing that Hurricane Sandy didn't count on when she set out to destroy our little seaside town. That thing is community and Long beach is a community like no other. When times are tough, everyone pitches in and does their part. The past week in Long Beach is proof positive.
What Swingbellys BBQ does is feed people, and feed 'em well! The thought of so many of our neighbors not being able to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving Turkey is more than we can stand. They have suffered enough already. To do our part for this great little community that we call home, Swingbellys BBQ, Skudin Surf, Surfforall.org & the Long Beach Surfers Association are asking for your help. Help us feed a hot Thanksgiving Dinner to as many families as we possibly can. With your help, the tremendous volunteer network of our partner organizations and the cooking capacity of both our Lynbrook location and mobile concession setup we hope to restore a happy Thanksgiving holiday to 100 families in Long Beach.
So whatever help you can offer by way of a donation to our cause (whether its the kind of money that jingles or the kind of money that folds) is more appreciated we could ever express in words. We thank you in advance for your support. If you would like to learn more our organizations please feel free to check us all out @ Swingbellys BBQ's Facebook page, www.Skudinsurf.com , Surfforall.org. & www.longbeachsurfersassociation.com
