Symphony of Scholarships
Organized by: Phoi Tran
On February 22nd 2017, Medical, Educational Missions & Outreach at UCLA (M.E.M.O) will be hosting our first annual awareness night, Symphony of Scholarships. Symphony of Scholarship is organized to educate our community about the education disparity in third world countries like Vietnam. In the rural areas of Vietnam, children are often unable to continue their education due to financial instability within a family. With the schooling system available on a fee basis, children are often pulled out of school early because their families are simply unable to afford the payments that continued education requires. Ultimately, the goal of this project is to spread awareness about the situation that many underprivileged students face and inspire change by raising funds for MEMO’s Scholarship Program. Each scholarship is only $60 but it will enable a child to remain in school for another year. All funds donated to this page will go towards helping us send more children to school. Your effort and contributions to the cause will be able to help another child break away from the cycle of poverty and give them the opportunity to achieve a better future!
