In honor of my dad, Sylvester G. Holley AKA "Rock", I wanted to do something to honor him, his legacy and his memory. He was so full of life before MSA took over his body and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather...and a friend to many. Sadly, he passed away after battling MSA for 5 years on 9/28/2011. My dad loved to help others. His dying wish was to donate his brain so that he could help with research efforts for MSA in hopes that it might help someone else diagnosed with MSA and his wish was granted. His hope and our hope is that one day, research will lead to a cure for MSA. MSA is a relentess disease and watching my dad suffer without any hope of being cured was heartbreaking for our family. We miss him dearly and know he's resting in peace now free from this horrible disease but so many others are still fighting to survive. I'm hoping you will help honor my dad and support MSA by donating so that more funding can be received to continue research.
Unfortunately because Multiple System Atrophy is a rare disease more funding is needed to continue to do research to find a cause and a cure. Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare, neurodegenerative disorder affecting multiple body systems. Major symptoms can occur in any combination including ataxia (loss of balance and coordination), severe low blood pressure leading to dizziness or fainting when standing, bladder retention or incontinence, constipation, male impotence, speech and swallowing difficulties, sleep disorders, breathing problems, and rigidity and tremor similar to Parkinson’s Disease. You become a prisoner in your own body in the later stages of the disease.
Please give what you can if you want to help. No amount is too small or too large so whatever you give it will go a long way to help researchers continue their work.
The Multiple System Atrophy Coalition www.MultipleSystemAtrophy.org is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 charitable organization based in the United States devoted entirely to Multiple System Atrophy research, support , advocacy and education .

To those that donate....THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. I ask that you pray for all who have lost loved ones to the disease and are coping with the loss. Please also pray for those who are battling it now and for their families. Also pray for the caregivers who give so much of themselves to help MSA victims fight to live each day.
