(**DONATION DETAILS AT THE END)
The annual murder of thousands of dolphins started on 1 September in Taiji, Japan.
The Cove, where this slaughter takes place, will be the host of Cove Guardians all over the world. Last year I served as a Cove Guardian side by side with volunteers from all over the world. It was the both the best and the worst experience of my life. Worst because I was physically exposed to the trauma of the murder of countless dolphins; and best because I knew that I was actively making a difference in saving the lives of countless others. When my time came to leave Taiji, I didn't want to go. I cried all the way back home. From the moment I set foot on my flight back to South Africa, I only had one goal in mind: I HAVE TO GET BACK TO TAIJI. Not a singe day has gone by since then that I am not utterly consumed by Taiji and the slaughter of those beautiful dolphins.
I am saving all my annual leave at work; and rather than waste it by sitting at home, I want to spend it in Taiji, documenting the atrocity.
Unfortunately, the only thing standing in my way of getting back on the front line of this fight, is finances. I need a budget of R32 000 for the two weeks I want to return.
Hence my page on Crowdrise.
I have absolutely nothing to lose by submitting my appeal to friends, family and strangers. I am a well respected and known animal rights activist and have worked with Paul Watson. I also spend most of my free time serving non-profit organisations and doing voluntary work. My voluntary work includes:
