Its sometimes difficult to come up with words to describe everything that happened last year. Those pictures are a few reminders of what happened. Of going out to my aunt and uncles house and helping them clean the basement (the first and second pictures). Of walking down the streets of Rockaway as they were covered in sand with houses falling apart around them. Seeing the contents of everyone's houses being emptied as they were destroyed in the storm. So on Wednesday, October 9th I will be swimming from 6:10-6:40am in the middle of herald square with Diana Nyad to raise money for continued Sandy Relief. Please come down, cheer me on, donate on this page and know that thousands of families are still coming back from that storm and recovering and that every little bit helps!

Sometimes we need a reminder. A year after so many of us travelled outside of our own boroughs to help others, this event is a nice reminder. You helped then, you did something good, so let's keep helping a bit more.
Just a little bit helps, we'll be up early, in the water doing something I love to do.
So come on out and watch, drop a dime in the collection bucket or just look at a picture of me freezing after the swim...hopefully it will remind you of something great you did a year ago.
