EVENT DATE: Feb 11, 2011
Spectrum LGBT Center is hosting a Valentine's luncheon on Friday, February 11th, 2011, for 100 gay seniors. Many of these older adults are in their 70s, 80s, and 90s, and have experienced a level of discrimination in their lifetime that most of us cannot now imagine. They lost their jobs, were thrown in jail, and shunned by their families. To survive meant to hide, and that's what many of them did. Today, Spectrum provides safe and friendly gatherings for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender older adults who can, at last, enjoy the company of others like themselves without fear. Our next event is on Friday, February 11th, when we host a Friendship Luncheon for LGBT older adults. The cost per person is $20 and will include a lovely meal, door prizes, and the company of 100 friends. We hope to underwrite the entire lunch with your donations. Thank you so much!
