Ryan Orton's Fundraiser:

Take A Hike Cancer

Ryan's Photo

BENEFITING: Humane Society of Central Delaware County, Inc.

EVENT DATE: Jun 14, 2013

Ryan Orton

Animal Healthcare Supervisor at the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society and avid Catskill hiker Beth Cressman was diagnosed with lymphoma at the ripe old age of 30. She underwent chemotherapy in Rochester for several months, dramatically missing the shelter and the mountains! However, she's BACK and would love to turn her personal tragedy into something to hopefully benefit others.

SO – to commemorate her 2 year anniversary of the end (hopefully!) of her battle with the big “C”, Beth is combining her two greatest loves – animals and hiking -into a fundraiser to benefit both the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, where she has absolutely LOVED being employed for the past 12 years; and Delaware County Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

Beth will be hiking the Devil's Path in her beloved Catskill Mountains. The trail travels up and over 6 mountains, is 23 miles long and involves over 7250 feet of vertical ascent. She plans on doing this in one day – barefoot! Any support would be gratefully appreciated and will go directly to help homeless animals and to the American Cancer Society, two special causes near and dear to Beth's hea
