BENEFITING: Talbot Special Riders Inc
TSR's mission is to provide physical and emotional therapy to adults and children with developmental disabilities using horses. We have done this successfully for over 35 years! For some time, the TSR Board of Directors has felt that we need to expand and upgrade our services to truly fulfill that mission. We needed to consider expanding our morning and afternoon sessions, offering sessions on weekends and potentially being available to clients year-round. A decision was made to relocate TSR to Timber Grove Farm, (TGF) 6292 Statum Road, Preston MD to accomplish this expanded mission. The farm is owned and operated by our instructor, Kim Hopkins, and her daughter, Ashley Hopkins. The plan is to start TSR sessions at TGF in the Fall 2016. TSR is a wholly volunteer organization that depends on donations and small grants to pay for the horses and other expenses and to offer our clients scholarships in order to keep their fees to the lowest for any similar therapeutic program. We require additional funds to help to move all our equipment, make appropriate safety improvements to TGF for the program. We are asking for help in making these safety improvements, specifically improving a covered riding ring for protection from the elements for the year round program, including new lighting, new fences and a new sand floor base. Any and all help is appreciated. See TalbotSpecialRiders.com for more information on our programs or email SpecialRiders@Hotmail.com for questions.
