About OCA-DC and the Talk Story Program:
OCA-DC (www.ocadc.org), a membership based national organization of over 100 chapters and affiliates dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans (APA). This fundraiser highlights one of our signature programs, Talk Story, which uses storytelling to educate and raise awareness of the APA history and experience. Since April 2012, we have held over 20 Talk Story events in DC’s Chinatown and have heard from APA trailblazers such as John Jung, a noted author and historian of Asian American Life, Corky Lee; the “undisputed unofficial Asian American Photographer Laureate”; and Marine Major Kurt Lee, hero of the Korean War.
