Hello friends and family, as many of you know, I have had epicondylitis for 6 years now in both elbows. I had tried everything. Physical therapy, wearing braces on both arms, Cortisone shots, ultrasound, a TENS machine, nothing has helped. My dr. finally decided to have me in for an MRI. The MRI report showed significant tears, ruptures and severe inflammation. I also had severe carpal tunnel. This is all on my right arm of course. After talking to my dr. I decided to try surgery as a last resort. On July 19, 2016 I had a Medial Epicondylectomy and Carpal Tunnel Release. My doctor said that there were so many tissues, ligaments, and tendons that had to be removed that he had to scrape the bone down and reattach what was good with stitches. He also took out the Ulna nerve which is the nerve that causes the pain. I was in a cast from my fingers up to my shoulder for 3 1/2 weeks. I finally got the cast off and now have to wear a splint for 4 more weeks. I am in Occupational Therapy now and will be for at least 6 more weeks. I am unable to work because I need this to heal. This is my last resort and if this does not heal, I will most likely be unable to lift anything again or have use in that arm at all. My job requires a lot of heavy lifting and I love my job. I am hoping to get back to work by November at the very latest. I was unable to get short-term disability through my employer because I was told that I am not eligible. I have medical bills piling up and I'm scared to death that I'll lose our home that my son and I live in. I also have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, a Hiatal Hernia, Arthritis, and GERD which is causing me distress as well. The prescription for Fibromyalgia is $310.00/mo. Since I am not working, I am having to pay bills with credit cards as I have gone through my savings. Without this medication, I am unable to function as Fibromyalgia is becoming quite debilitating. Stress makes it flare up and causes me a great deal of pain. I have had Fibromyalgia for 28 years now so I have learned to live with the pain. There are days that I literally cannot function at all. I have tried to sell my furniture and other personal items without any success. I was able to find 1 of my pets a home which was extremely difficult for me to do. I love my pets and don’t want to have to lose anymore. We have 3 dogs, our 8 yr. old Chihuahua (Sparki) that is losing his teeth rapidly. I have to have his teeth cleaned/pulled or he will eventually develop an infection which could possibly take his life. This cost is $400 as I inquired with his Veterinarian. Our other dog Foxy (Corgi/Sheltie cross) is having bladder issues and she desperately needs medical attention. I also have a rat that has a very large tumor, as well as a smaller one now. I could no longer see her struggling to walk so I took her to the Veterinarian on 9/6/2016 and was told that nothing could really be done for her except pain medication to keep her comfortable. This cost me $47.30 which I had to put on my credit card. I cannot afford all these expenses and I just don't know what to do. A friend suggested that I try Crowdrise as it is a website to help me raise some money so I can pay off my medical bills and credit cards. I have always tried to do my best at keeping a roof over my son and my head and have never asked for help. I am now at a point that I just can't do this any longer. I am going through a really tough time and need help. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
