BENEFITING: Basic Needs Foundation, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Sep 25, 2016
Basic Needs Foundation held a free mobile spay/neuter for pets of the homeless on September 11th, 2016. Many homeless women came to ask for tampons or pads, but we did not have ANY to give them. We also did not have medium, large collars and leashes for these pets.
We told them to come back to see us on the second mobile spay/neuter clinic on September 25th, 2016. We will provide them with tampons and pads.
Tampons and pads that are rarely donated to shelter, and that can't be bought with many public assistance benefits like food stamps or Medicaid. Women make up a third of all homeless people in the shelters. There are 500 plus homeless people who live along the Santa Ana river bed in Orange County, CA.
We want to provide enough tampons for 100 homeless women on September 25, 2016. Please donate so we can buy tampons, pads for these homeless women, AND collars, leashes for their pets. Thank you.
