BENEFITING: THE JOHN VOLKEN FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jun 18, 2016
This is my first half marathon and completing it will prove to be very difficult for me because five years ago my arch collapsed on my left foot. I had reconstructive surgery that ended up being unsuccessful. The doctor told me that I will never run again until I get another surgery that proves to be successful. I have not had another surgery and my foot is in a constant state of pain which plays a big part in my addiction to opiates. Drugs has destroyed many opportunities in my life. I am running this race for all those who have lost their lives due to drugs and alcohol. Another big reason I am running this race is to stand as a testament to my family, wife, and friends that we can do hard things even though the odds may be stacked against us; I love you all. I am the only one that can change my life and the tools I am learning at the John Volken Academy will help me do just that. Please help me to achieve greatness by giving a small donation. The money will be going towards other addicts like me trying to change their lives here at the John Volken Academy and allow me my spot in the race. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. May God Bless You.
