Tara Bannister Fund
Organized by: Marissa Bannister
My name is Marissa Bannister. I am 19 years old, and my mother was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 20 years ago at the age of 20. As the years have gone by, I've seen her struggle through a total hip replacement at the age of 26 and a wrist replacement at the age of 35. Growing up, I've watched her in and out of the hospital and have seen her slowly lose her mobility. Both of my mothers wrists are fused through the progression of her disease. There are many medications available for arthritis treatment but they are extremely expensive. My mother takes Remicade bi-monthly plus several medications and without it becomes bed ridden. We recently lost our house and had to down size to try to get a handle on the medical bills and living costs. My dad works a full time job and any day off he gets is taking my mom to her appointments. Without a two person income it is very difficult for us. I have been working since high school and often help my parents the best I can. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated!
