So… did I go through with it?
August 02, 2016
Friday 29th July 2016 is Golbal Tiger Day. It’s also the day I’m getting a tiger tattoo, symbolising how much the survival of our world’s big cats means to me… and afterward, I’ll also be donating to Panthera through this fundraiser page an amount equivalent “dollar-for-dollar” to how much my tattoo ends up costing me. That way, I not only put my money where my mouth is, but I also get to permanently “wear my passion with pride”!
In the meantime—why not donate here yourself to support Panthera and encourage my mad endeavour? Any amount (even just USD$10) makes a real difference!
In just a few generations we’ve lost about 60 percent of global big cat numbers—some species closer to a shocking 96%. As “apex predators”, their presence reflects the health of their entire ecosystem—and their decline, a sign of our devastating environmental impact.
We can turn this around, but need your help!
Panthera is changing the fortunes of big cats by reducing direct threats such as hunting, illegal poaching, habitat loss, and prey species reduction; and by positive actions including tagging, monitoring, and helping to establish wildlife corridors and sanctuaries; as well as training rangers, farmers, schools, and (probably hardest of all) government bodies and businesses, on how to live alongside these incredible creatures.
Your donation supports scientifically-backed, global-reaching big cat conservation work and research by the experts on the ground in the fight against poaching, habitat destruction, and loss of prey for tigers, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and their relatives.
