BENEFITING: One Love Foundation in honor of Yeardley Love
EVENT DATE: Oct 15, 2016
As a member of the Loyola University Maryland's One Love Team's Executive Committee, a native Baltimorean, and the sibling of a close friend of Yeardley's, this cause really strikes a chord with me. I can remember, sadly vividly, the look on my sister's face, alongside those of her friends, when they learned of Yeardley's traumatizing death. And having known Yeardley myself, it still pains me that someone as bright, outgoing, and full of potential as she was the victim of such grotesque abuse.
A former lacrosse player myself, I look for ways to actively and proudly stand up against relationship violence when I play and coach. Having the opportunity to blend these efforts with my passion for fitness and an active lifestyle is one that I am fortunate for, and one that I will take very seriously.
The Baltimore Running Festival will raise awareness and funds to help One Love expand our presence nationally. We hope you will join the One Love team by running in the Baltimore Marathon, Half Marathon, Team Relay, or 5K. Non-runners can also support One Love by fundraising and volunteering on race day.
I hope you consider supporting my participation in the Baltimore Running Festival by making a donation to my OneLove Foundation team. Every dollar goes to developing and implementing effective programming to teach the dynamics of healthy relationships and the warnings signs of relationship violence to boys and girls of all ages.
