THE STORY:
Please join me in raising money to support the FEED Foundation's "RUN10FEED10." I'll be mapping out my own route and running it on November 8th (yes, right after I return from campaign!).
WHY RUN 10: It's simple. I grew up in a beautiful community--the capitol of one of the top-ten largest economies in the world and a city considered to be one of the Top 10 "fittest cities" in America. I attended four fantastic schools, and I was fortunate enough to never skip a meal. Not everyone is or was as lucky as I was. "RUN10FEED10" is a run with a mission. By signing up, I instantly provided 10 meals to students in Sacramento-area schools and community programs. With your help, I can provide more.
WHY MEALS TO SCHOOLS: Not only does hunger affect physical development, but it also impacts a child's ability to learn. School meal programs encourage families to send their children to school. Food gives children energy to learn and empowers them to better their lives. More importantly, for many children, the meal they receive at school is the only meal they'll eat all day.
WAYS TO HELP:
- DONATE...no amount is too small, so please consider making a donation to provide meals to those going hungry in Sacramento-schools and communities.
- Join me and RUN 10 to FEED 10. If you want to register to run, and instantly provide 10 meals for those in your community, visit www.RUN10FEED10.com.
WHY FEED: The FEED Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to ensure nutritious school meals for all children as a first step to improving the global food system. The FEED Foundation has provided nearly 60 million school meals to children in the developing world through the United Nations World Food Progam school feeding operations. Partnering with FEED Projects, Inc., the FEED Foundation has donated over $6M, funding nearly 60 million meals in more than 62 countries.
Hunger is the world’s most solvable problem, and I invite you to join me in making a small but meaningful impact in our community.
