Tay's Graduate School Relocation Fund
Organized by: Tay Glover
I have earned an amazing opportunity to complete my PH.D in African American Studies at Northwestern University in Chicago, one of the top prestigious universities in the US! I chose this program because of the amazing faculty, intellectual community, and research support. While in this program I will be working on a project to explore questions and possibilities of Black liberation that centers anti-black violence, the US South (my home, South Carolina specifically), and Black queer women from the South (often under-studied locations and positionalities). And what a critical moment we are in for me to do this work!
While I've worked hard to put myself through school the last few years, and hate asking for help, I recognize that I need some help to get to and through this last phase of my career preparation/justice work. Your contributions will help me pay for some basics such as moving expenses, rent, utilities, and food. If this goal is surpassed, maybe even a bed, some furnishing, and school supplies :) .
Thank you to all of my mentors, family, friends, colleagues, near and far for your mentorship, words of encouragement, prayers, and well wishes so far! I am truly grateful to those who have invested in me thus far. I welcome you to invest in me once again; any contributions would be greatly appreciated. -Tay Glover
