BENEFITING: THE BELL CENTER FOR EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS
EVENT DATE: Feb 12, 2012
Dear Friends and Family;
On February 12,2012 our relay team of 5 friends will be running the Mercedes Marathon. Twenty-six point two miles through the streets of downtown Birmingham early on a Sunday morning. Our motivation for running the race is two fold, a personal goal and charitable mission.
The Service Guild of Birmingham is a wonderful organization made up of over 130 volunteers whose mission is to provide active and committed members dedicated to fundraising and assisting children at risk for developmental delay while maximizing their potential through a one to one therapeutic approach. We are a group of women who do this through a lifetime partnership with The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs. The Bell Center is dedicated to maximizing the potential of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delay. Each year runners through out the community commit to running the Mercedes Marathon in honor of every child enrolled in The Bell Center. We will be running in honor of Haynes Emanuel.
Haynes was born at 33 weeks and spent 30 days in the NICU at St. Vincents. She experienced many problems common with prematurity- slow to feed, bradycardia, apnea, etc. As she approached 9 months her parents noticed that she was not babbling, talking, saying "ma-ma" etc. Her mother had been exposed to the Bell Center while in nursing school and contacted The Bell Center. In the last 18 months her parents have seen Haynes grow and develop in ways that they never even dreamed. She has just blossomed at The Bell Center.
Our team has committed to raising $2620 in honor of Haynes for The Service Guild. Please consider supporting us in our efforts to help Haynes and all other children served by The Bell Center by making a tax-deductible donation to this special place.
Thank you for visiting our Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
On behalf of Haynes and each family associated with The Bell Center, We thank you for your kind and generous support.
