You can donate to fight Pancreatic Cancer via this Crowdrise page.
OR ... even better, you can donate to the TC Cheever Family Trust, with the proceeds going directly to help his 3 kids, as well as help fight cancer. To do this second option, you'll need to send a check (details here: http://www.welovetc.com/the-tc-cheever-family-trust/)
OR ... you can donate to the trust online via me and PayPal (gregwymer at hotmail dot com). Just use the "Friends and Family" option so PayPal won't take a cut. And every dollar I get this way will go to the Trust.
So, yeah, I'm running a marathon. Me. I have been dubbed by my teammates the "WymerRunner". (Us comedians love a good pun.) And by "run a marathon," I really mean "traverse 26.2 miles in some manner".
Why am I doing this? Because TC ran the Disney marathon 11 years ago. And was the kind of person that, when he died last January at the age of 43 from pancreatic cancer, inspired over 25 of his close friends to say, "I'm gonna run Disney for TC next year."
I always talked a good game about wanting to run a marathon one day, but it was always that ... talk. Then I finally got a good reason to do so.
TC was that kind of person. Creative, inspirational, funny, warm, earnest, loyal, and with a laugh that filled a room and the heart of the person who made the funny.
When I think about the fact that he's no longer with us, it makes me sad.
When I think about the fact that I got to be his friend and know him, it makes me happy.
I hope you have someone like TC in your life, because they make things a lot more fun.
You can learn more about TC at www.welovetc.com
And feel free to hashtag #WeLoveTC at any time. It's the front of our running singlets.
Thanks. Wish me luck.

We are running in memory of our friend TC Cheever, a beloved member of the Boston comedy, theater, and music communities. TC himself ran the Walt Disney World Marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of his friend Hal Rather, and we've decided a fitting tribute to the man would be to run in his footprints this spring, raising money to find a cure for the disease that took him too soon.
We are also raising money for the TC Cheever Family Trust, though we cannot accept those donations online. For information about the trust, please visit http://www.welovetc.com/the-tc-cheever-family-trust/. We'll count any contributions towards our overall goal.
