THE STORY:

Hope is something that hundreds of dogs awaiting euthansia no longer have and it's time we change that.  Just like the dogs featured here and saved by our rescue, there are many wonderful dogs that find themselves in unfortunate circumstances through no fault of their own.  They have a good reason to be worried because 3-4 million healthy, adoptable animals are being euthanized in shelters each and every year.  But we can do our part to change that and you can help!

My name is Jamie Hawkins, and I had a dream back in 2011 to help save the lives of dogs awaiting euthanasia at high kill shelters.  I put my passion to work and founded Tennessee Death Row Dogs, which is now a 501(c)3 charity and 3 years later, has aided in saving the lives of thousands of dogs.  I post the dogs scheduled for euthanasia on our Facebook page to assist with networking, and we save as many as we can through our rescue.  We take the dogs commonly left behind; black dogs, senior dogs, Bully breed mixes and those with severe medical needs.  Our rescue dogs are vaccinated, heartworm tested and treated if needed, spay/neutered, microchipped and offered for adoption.  We then get to work finding the best fitting family for each dog.

We want to save even more lives in the years to come and part of that effort is working to build our own facility.  We want a place where volunteers enjoy coming, where our dogs thrive and hope springs eternal for these former "death row dogs".  This is my dream for the future, but without action, it may never come true.  The before and after photos featured show a handful of the dogs we've helped over the last three years.  We hope that with your help, we can save many more dogs who are quickly approaching euthanasia due to a lack of space in their shelters.

Please donate if you can, tell your friends about the great work we do, and ask them to do same.  If we win this challenge, we'll also win $50,000 to help us build a place of hopes, dreams and new beginnings for so many dogs in the most dire of need.

We thank you for your support and appreciate your efforts!
