We are participating in the O2 breathe Walk to raise awareness and funds in support of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association's mission of finding a cure for PH.
Pulmonary Hypertension is the narrowing of the arteries of the lungs. The heart must work harder than normal in order to pump blood into the lungs, which, over time, can lead to heart failure. The disease is progressive, and there is no cure.
Ada Riley was diagnosed with PH at the age of 6. Now nearly 9, she has braved three heart catheterizations and attends "clinic" at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia every three months for a myriad of tests. She is on medications which manage the symptoms of PH.
Ada has still been able to do many of the things she loves, including softball, rock climbing, ballet and soccer. She loves Star Wars, Ninja Warrior, and math! This summer she attended her second year of "Heart Camp," where she enjoyed fun adventures with other PH kids and the amazing, loving CHOP medical team.
Please consider walking with our team on October 1st or making a donation so that we can find a cure for PH!
