Team Bradley: Medical and Health Equipment
Organized by: Natalie LaRose
This fundraiser began by Ryan Dornier and The Legacy sweetly and supportively using the month of June as an awareness month for AHDS. He has set up a fund at The Legacy for all of the proceeds from the tennis Round Robins during June to be sent to our family- Brad, Natalie, Lilly & Bradley LaRose. We are so gratefully humbled and blessed to have such supportive and caring friends. We cannot express in words how much this means to us and how much it will help Bradley and our family.
Campaign for Allan-Herndon-Dudley Syndrome, a rare genetic mutation that our son, Bradley, lives with everyday and will for the rest of his life. It is very debilitating and leads to overwhelming medical needs for his special care on a daily basis. He was diagnosed one year ago in August.
At one and a half years old, Bradley cannot sit upright, crawl, walk upright, coordinate arms/hands/legs to stabilize or play on his own, or verbalize using words/babbling. This leads to a constant struggle for him and our family on a daily basis, such as things we take for granted like eating, swallowing and sleeping. AHDS causes hypotonia- weak muscle tone in his upper body, and hypertonia- increased muscle tone in his lower body, which causes painful muscle spasms and a hypermetabolic state which impairs him in gaining weight. He also struggles with respiratory and gastrointestinal problems daily as well due to not being able to sit up and eat properly.
We have been blessed with a marvelous team of health professionals, each and every one takes Bradley's condition and health seriously, and they all work proactively to prevent any further health problems. We have been denied any form of governmental assistance, as it is not based on diagnosis and severity of syndrome. Thankfully we have medical insurance, but it has been a constant emotional rollercoaster of fighting for our son due to being denied several medically necessary pieces of equipment and multiple therapies/physician visits that would have helped his health. Therefore, we are humbly reaching out to you, our beloved family, friends, and supports.
We truly appreciate every blessing we receive from God because He works in wonderful and surprising ways. As we also truly appreciate each one of "Bradley's extended family", as that is what we consider you! Thank you for taking the time, effort and generosity to help our family for such a marvelous cause, Our sweet Bradley.
