Team Carrie 50k Trail Run
Organized by: Justin Shaffer
June 11, 2016
EVENT DATE Jun 11, 2016
Ed, Jen and Justin are camp people. We have worked at various camps in various roles over the past 10+ years, and we are huge advocates for Christian camping ministry because of the life-changing impact it has on so many kids and families every summer.
The 3 of us have teamed up to compete in the Laurel Highlands Ultra 50k Relay on Saturday, June 11, 2016 to raise money for the Carrie Foust Memorial Scholarship Fund at Pine Springs Camp (and because we just love being outside!).

Summer camp can be a financial stretch for a family. Pine Springs Camp is committed to providing scholarships for any child who wants to have a life-changing, joy-filled week of summer camp. We would like to grow this fund so that we can reach even more people. The Carrie Foust Memorial Scholarship Fund makes summer camp a reality for hundreds of families each year, and continues to grow, thanks to the generosity of so many gracious donors.

Carrie Foust was a beloved camper and counselor at Pine Springs Camp. Carrie’s love for Christ was evident in all that she did and she was passionate about supporting the mission to “provide every camper with a vital encounter with Jesus Christ.” Carrie believed that a week at Pine Springs Camp would be awesome for any child. Her legacy lives on through the memorial fund that bears her name. This race is particularly special for Carrie's scholarship fund because she was a part of our 2008 Mountains 2 Missions group who hiked the same 31+ mile route on the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.
