BENEFITING: HIGH WATER WOMEN FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 09, 2016
Crowe Horwath interns in the New York and New Jersey offices have decided to participate in the annual High Water Women's Backpack Drive. This fundraiser helps thousands of children in need in the NYC/CT/NJ area start the school year ready to learn.
In 2015, the High Water Women Foundation provided 18,500 children with fully-supplied backpacks with the help of more than 2000 donors and volunteers. In NYC alone, more than 750,000 public school kids qualify for the free or reduced-price Lunch Program. The families receiving our backpacks are not able to afford even the most basic school supplies. High Water Women works with more than 40 schools and nonprofits to reach children in need of backpacks in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, NJ & CT.
Children, grades kindergarten through high school, receive backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies. High Water Women maximizes your donation through its wholesale purchasing power and engagement of a volunteer force to assemble backpacks.
Since the Backpack Drive began in 2005, 86,500 children have received new backpacks to start school and demand for backpacks gets bigger every year.
Our interns will be helping pack each bookbag with the specific supplies on August 9th!
HWW's goal for 2016 is 20,000 backpacks.
Our NY/NJ office goal is to raise $2,500 (100 backpacks). For only $25 you could supply a child in need with a backpack for school this year!
Thank you for your support!
