BENEFITING: SCOTT CARTER FOUNDATION
Erin Loveman DeVan
Team DeVan will once again be participating in the Run Disney Race Weekend in January 2018, and raising money for the Scott Carter Foundation. Lola and Bode will be running the 100m dash and I will be running my first marathon since having my lovely children. No family should lose a child to cancer. Our team is dedicated to raising money to fund childhood cancer research. Scott Carter was a 13-year old boy who died in December of 1993 after a courageous three-year battle with bone cancer. The Scott Carter Foundation is operated by volunteers, allowing almost all money raised to go toward funding research projects. The foundation has funded more than nine two-year research fellowships at institutions including M.D. Anderson, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Texas Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Denver, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Duke University Medical Center and Duke University Children’s Hospital.
