BENEFITING: Youth Improved Incorporated
You can assist Fuel Up to Play 60 in providing health and wellness opportunities for local Chicago youth while supporting so many program priorities that are invaluable to their schools! Your support helps to fight food insecurity by providing creative breakfast programs at low-income schools, addressing the child obesity epidemic by introducing physical activity and nutrition education at schools, and developing youth leaders and health ambassadors to make a difference in local communities. By choosing to support TEAM FUTP60 at the Chicago Marathon, you will help us in making a difference for youth. These 26.2 miles will help change lives! Fuel Up to Play 60 is the largest in-school nutrition and physical activity program in the U.S., launched by National Dairy Council and NFL, in collaboration with the USDA. The program encourages today's youth to lead healthier lives. Schools participating in the program strive to meet their wellness goals by encouraging youth to consume nutrient-rich foods (low-fat or fat-free dairy, fruits, vegetables and whole grains) and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Fuel Up to Play 60 is currently active in more than 73,000 schools with over 38 million students enrolled nationwide. GENYOUth is a 501c3 organization that administers FUTP60. GENYOUth nurtures healthy, high-achieving school communities by activating programs that create healthy, active students and schools; empowering youth as change-agents in their local communities and engaging a network of private and public partners that share our goal to create a healthy, successful future for students, schools and communities nationwide.
