BENEFITING: Intertribal Friendship House
ORGANIZER: Intertribal Friendship House
EVENT DATE: Apr 02, 2017
Tina and I are participating in the Oakland Running Festival to benefit the Intertribal Friendship House (IFH). My first involvement with IFH was in 1984 as a UC Berkeley volunteer in the K-12 after school tutoring program. Today, we're happy to continue to support the many wonderful programs sponsored by IFH. So, can you!
I am reaching out to you to make a donation that you can claim as a 2016 or 2017 tax deduction.
The pictures I posted are reflective of my experiences on the reservation. This year I am channeling my inner Billy Mills who is an Olympian from Pine Ridge, SD. I am privileged to say I ran many of the same trails and roads Billy trained on as a youth. In my mind, no athlete better represents the USA than Billy. I say this not only for his accomplishments as an athlete, but more so for what he has achieved as a fundraiser and humanitarian after his gold medal performance.
For more on his incredible story, the following links are insightful of his Olympic journey and lifelong achievements.
