Let the iMentor Challenge 2017 begin!
For the past three years, I’ve been a mentor to an awesome high school junior named Mathilde as part of iMentor. Mathilde immigrated from the Democratic Republic of Congo to the United States with her parents and siblings while still in grade school. She's now a vibrant teenager attending the Bronx Leadership Academy II in New York City and interested in majoring in journalism at a large university.
iMentor is an incredible organization that provides NYC public high school students—many who are first-generation students from low-income communities—with access to educational opportunities and resources that are essential to helping them achieve their academic, personal, and career ambitions.
Equal access to quality K-12 education and college preparation programs has always been a passion for me; it's one of the reasons I decided to work in higher ed. My hope is that you'll consider investing in iMentor so we can ensure more students like Mathilde have a fair chance to realize their dreams. Just $100 supplies an iMentor mentee with a year's access to monthly career and college prep events, and $500 provides a college application event for an entire junior class.
Every dollar counts and gets us closer to giving every student the opportunities they deserve. I'd be so grateful if you'd consider making a donation, no matter how small, to help us reach our goal.
Many thanks and we appreciate your support!
