Sultana accepted to Barnard College!!
March 25, 2017
Thank you to everyone that supported us so far! My goal is to raise $50,000 over my 4 years to support iMentor’s ability to match even more mentor-mentee pairs like Sultana and me. Please, for our Senior Year, dig as deep as you can to help me fulfill my goal.
75% of iMentor’s students enroll in college. That's 50% higher than the national average!! iMentor’s goal is to empower students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions.
My mentee, Sultana, is finishing her last year at The Young Women's Leadership School in NYC. She has already received acceptance letters from the 6 schools but her heart if really set on Barnard... fingers crossed!
Update: Sultana was accepted into Barnard!!!
iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions. Students and mentors work one-on-one through iMentor’s online and in-person curriculum to navigate the college application process and build critical skills linked to college success. In New York City, iMentor partners with public schools to ensure every student in the school receives a mentor. Since 1999, iMentor has connected 12,000 students in New York City with mentors, and will match more than 3,800 mentor-mentee pairs this year. iMentor also provides its curriculum, technology, and best practices to nonprofits nationwide to help them run effective mentoring programs in the iMentor model.
