Jack was a fantastic 5-year old boy. He was a Jedi, trained in the Force, who fought and defeated Darth Vadar. He was a happy, joyous, quiet-spirited , funny guy. The first signs and symptoms of any problems came when Jack was just 3 years old and it was discovered that he had several large colon polyps. Then, on November 20, 2014 Jack was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioma (brain tumor). On January 22, 2016, Jack passed away in the arms of his loving parents. They miss him dearly and deeply. They will continue to mourn their loss of him even as they continue to figure out how to live their lives every day. Cancer is real. Just ask Jack's parents and family and friends. What else is real, is this: patients with cancer, individuals in remission, families and loved ones of patients , all of these individuals need a place to go when a diagnosis is announced, or a test result comes back unfavorably, or it all just seems to be too much and solace needs to be found in a colorful playroom, a warm smile and conversation or a delicious "home" cooked meal. Our Clubhouse offers all of that and more to anyone whose life is or has been touched by cancer. I run for Team Jack because I want Our Clubhouse to be here for those who need it. We all want and dream and pray for a day when cancer no longer exists. But until that day, everyone touched by cancer needs a place to go. And that place is Our Clubhouse. Please give generously in honor of 5-year old Jack. I run with his spirit in my legs and thoughts. Push me along Jack! I'm going to need it! His birth date was 5/24 so please consider giving $524.00, $52.00 or $10.00, whichever amount you can (or make up your own amount). I thank you as do Jack's parents for your generosity.
