BENEFITING: WORCESTER COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY INCORPORATED
EVENT DATE: Apr 23, 2016
My name is Jethro and I am a very lucky dog. My dad saved my life when I was a puppy. Animal control found me and my brothers and sisters under a house when we were only 6 weeks old. We had mange and other health issues from laying under the house. A loving dog rescue called K-9 Rescue took us from the kill shelter to try to put us in a good home. They drove us from North Carolina to Georgetown one weekend. That is when I met my dad. He happened to be having brunch in Georgetown that day and noticed the adoption signs. When he saw me in the cardboard box, he asked what was wrong with me because I was missing a lot of hair and looked very sick. They explained to my dad that I had mange and needed to see a vet. My dad picked me up and held me. I loved him right away and cuddled up to him as close as I could. The adoption people asked my Dad if I would be interested in becoming a foster parent. If he would foster me, then I would not be put to sleep that week by the kill shelter. That day, my dad was able to take me home and agreed to do the paperwork to become a foster parent. He took me to the vet the next day and got me all the medicine I needed to get better. I loved him so much, I never left his side and followed him around the house everywhere. A couple of days later, my Dad decided he didn't want to be a foster parent anymore and called the adoption people and told them he wanted to keep me forever. That was 7 years ago and me and my dad are still together.
