It's that time of year again! Time for me to ask Josh's village to rise up, walk the walk, and give whatever you can to help our family and many others on this sometimes daunting Fragile X journey. After 22 years, I have learned and grown so much; the first half of the journey, our family felt alone and frightened, and overwhelmed. Somewhere along the way I found a voice.... for Josh, helped start the Kansas Fragile X Group, and have started feeling like I have a broader purpose than just Josh's daily care. I spend time sewing for fundraisers, I give to and participate in or host any fundraising events that I'm able to, and strive to make sure other families don't feel as alone as I did in the early years. I'm a proud Southern woman and don't like to ask for help, but over the past five years, you have shown me how special it is to watch our friends and family give and show up for Josh. It is more of a blessing than I could ever put into words. That being said, I hope you will register and walk with us on September 17th, I hope you will donate through Team Joshman's fundraising page, and I hope you will consider donating something for our silent auction -- handmade items, gift cards to popular stores and/or restaurants, theme baskets, sports memorabilia, any new items that you think would be popular for fundraising. If you plan to donate an item for the silent auction, please email me at email@example.com and I will give you more information and add you to the list of contributors.
If there are special needs children or adults who want to register and walk with Josh, please note there is a $10 registration fee especially for you! That fee will get you a shirt and lunch and some live entertainment. It is just a super fun morning at the park and Josh and his family would LOVE to see you there.
If any of our friends or family want to donate plus take advantage of a matching program through your employer, please note the newer address for the National Fragile X Foundation, 2100 M Street, N.W., Suite 170, Box 302, Washington, DC 20037-1233. And please make sure the accounting department puts on the memo that it is for the Kansas Fragile X Group/Team Joshman.
We love you all and we thank you for your support.
