With long time roots in the community, the Fischer family has chosen to support the revitalization of the hand-made stained glass windows in the St. John's Church. I grew up in this church, was married in this church, and our children were baptized here. The beautiful windows tell the story of Christ. Together with my Mom and Dad (Dale and Annie Fischer) we are raising funds to help the church reach their $200,000 goal by our participation in the one and only 2016 Boston Marathon.
Dale Fischer was encouraged to begin his running journey when his youngest daugher, Sara, asked him to participate in a Thanksgiving Turkey trot nearly 20 years ago. His love for running began to grow from there. Sara and Dale honed in their running skills together running first in the Sunburst Marathon, Chicago, Big Sur, and most reciently in Boston 2015. Dale has Competed in over 30 different Marathons and more 5k, 10k races than he can count. And Sara has surpassed 15 marathons!
Through Dale's encouragement and trainging guidance, his wife, Annie, will be participating in her very first marathon, the one and only Boston Marathon. What an amazing opportunity for a first marathon!
Along with husband and wife, two of their daughter's are also participating in the 2016 Boston Marathon. Rachel is participating with Team LaPorte and the Stained Glass Window Project. This was all brought on by the determination, dedication and hard work, Dale and Annie's daugher, Sara, put into qualifying for the 2016 Boston Marathon.
