BENEFITING: JONATHAN CANCER FUND
Each day in the United States, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer. This annual spin event is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support pediatric cancer patients and their families. 100% of donations will go directly to the Jonathan Cancer Fund that supports our local families once a child is diagnosed with cancer.
On September 25th, my team and I will each spin 46 miles in honor of Lillian. Lillian was diagnosed with bleeding of the brain in January 2015. She had an emergency craniotomy and during that surgery, a malignant brain tumor was removed and identified as High Grade Anaplastic Astroblastoma. Lillian underwent 6.5 weeks of chemo. Throughout this treatment, Lillian still went to school on a regular basis, played soccer, and went to swim lessons. During her MRI on May 23, 2016, it looked as if her tumor might be growing back. Lillian underwent her second brain surgery on July 21st. Surgery was a success and pathology revealed that the removed tissue was a combination of radiation damage and recurrent/residual tissue. Lillian just recently started swallowing her chemo in pill form. She and her twin, Emma, will be starting 2nd grade soon! Please help us support Lillian, her family, and the 46 children that are diagnosed with cancer each day in the United States.
