Sheila Shackle wrote -Hi all, As you can see I've decided to challenge myself in the Rugged Maniac again this year. When I heard that you can fundraise for the American Cancer Society I knew I had to do it! Like many of you reading this, Cancer has also affected my life. I'm going to get muddy, bruised and run this race in honor of my Mom, Karen Bodde, who passed away in October 2014 from Pancreatic Cancer. My Mom always laughed when I did these crazy things and I know she'll be there with me every difficult obstacle in my path that day. Cancer is a horrible, horrible thing and I want to take part in something to help. The funds raised will enable the Society to provide patients, their families, and caregivers with cancer information, day-to-day help, and emotional support, as well as allow the Society to conduct groundbreaking research and fund pioneering scientists. If you would like to join me and be on my Cancer fighting team, let me know! Everything is better with friends and family along the way. So, now I need to get in shape. The Rugged Maniac is in September so I have some time to get ready and get fundraising. Please considering donating to this cause.
