BENEFITING: Life Is Priceless Foundation
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
This year, I’ve made a conscious decision to become more active in the community, volunteer and contribute more to charitable organizations, and push myself physically and mentally to be a better me! This has resulted in me getting involved with the Life Is Priceless Foundation, an amazing organization that helps raise money and awareness for suicide prevention and depression. What’s unique about this non-profit is that 100% of the proceeds go towards helping those who are suffering as well as friends and family of those who have lost a loved one.
My friend and colleague, Adam Danko, got involved with LIPF 4 years ago after losing his cousin to suicide. His story immediately resonated with me and has inspired me to step up and take a larger role in helping those in need. Every year, the LIPF rides in the TD 5 Borough Bike Tour to help raise money for this cause. It is one of its largest charity events that they participate in for the year and they see huge turnout every year. Last year, Adam started a competition among media agencies to see who could get the largest turn out and raise the most money for charity. MEC won the title and we’re eager to win again this year and keep the trophy where it belongs!
This year I’ll be riding with Adam as a part of Team MEC to raise money for LIPF in memory of his cousin Aaron. The bike ride is fast approaching and I just decided that I will be participating (I like to make quick, impulsive and spontaneous decisions). I also do not own a bicycle so this will be interesting (the bike ride is 40 miles!). I have a goal to raise $1,000 for the cause, but the clock is ticking! If you are able, please contribute to help me meet my goal and to help MEC maintain its title!
