You all know our Charlie's story.
When Charlie was three, we weren't sure he was going to talk. Ever.
He was sweet, kind, and never frustrated. He knew he was going to talk.
And so did his teachers at Radcliffe Creek School. They believed in him, just like they do today now that he can talk, and talk, and talk. About Legos and Minecraft and the beach and all the things he loves (there are a lot of things he loves, including most of you).
Radcliffe Creek is different than a lot of schools. You can tell that from the moment you walk in the front door and see a reading classroom with only 4-5 students in it, or an art room where students are working on anything from pottery to painting, all at the same time. You can tell that from the children actively moving in and out of classrooms, drawing clocks on the blacktop to tell the time, flicking their fidget spinners at the picnic table. We are different in all of the best ways. We are a school primarily for children who learn differently, but a school that benefits any child. We are Radcliffe.
Charlie and I live Radcliffe every day. But every few days, I also get the opportunity as the School's Director of Advancement to show the school to families who have never been before. And their awe is inspiring. They see classes tailored to the children. They see education being fun. They see hope.
Every spring, I reach out to our friends and family asking that they support our family as we raise funds through the Run for Radcliffe to support our great school and the hopes of many families, who without financial aid, wouldn't be able to afford a Radcliffe education for their children.
Team Mustache was born four years ago, inspired by Charlie's first intelligible BIG word, mustache. And we thank you for your support from the very bottom of our hearts (especially the biggest hearts - Charlie and Clara).
