THE STORY:

National Braille Press, Inc. wrote -

The Blindfold Challenge is a unique opportunity to run a 5K blindfolded with the help of a sighted guide to show solidarity with individuals who are visually impaired.

Athletes take the challenge to demonstrate that with the right supports and training, individuals who are blind can accomplish great things. The tether and guide mirror the way athletes who are blind train and run, and illustrate the ways that individuals with vision loss use technology and other supports to live full and active lives.

Blindfold Challenge teams commit to raising at least $1,000. Funds raised support Massachusetts organizations that provide rehabilitation, education and technology for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

In 2017, we are honored to once again be part of the B.A.A. 5K, taking place on Saturday, April 15th, in downtown Boston. Show your solidarity and experience the thrill of the challenge. Join today or donate to one of our runners. We guarantee the Blindfold Challenge will change the way you see things.

A non-profit braille publisher, National Braille Press promotes literacy for blind children through outreach programs and provides access to information by producing materials in braille for blind children and adults.

National Braille Press is the premier braille publisher in the US that specializes in producing original braille works written by blind authors expressly for blind people. NBP’s Center for Braille Innovation is providing access to information through more efficient braille production and the development of e-braille technologies.
