Lovelane Special Needs Horseback Riding Program is a therapeutic riding program that provides individualized physical and cognitive development therapy for children with special needs. The program integrates therapy with the pure joy and freedom of riding a horse to achieve the child’s specific therapeutic goals. With the help of nearly 200 volunteers, the program serves 130 students a week whose primary diagnoses include cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, genetic disorders, autism spectrum disorders, hearing and vision impairments, spinal cord injuries, seizure and other neurological disorders, as well as a range of developmental delays. I have recently returned to working with this wonderful program and it has been a delight! The interaction that occurs between child and horse provides a unique therapy that is hidden in a beautiful, fun and positive modality. You can make an impact on the lives of these kids by contributing to the Run for Lovelane. Thank you!
