The Trident Swim Foundation (www.tridentswimfoundation.org ) sponsors the Great Relay twice a year to raise funds for Trident Swim Foundation Swimmer Scholar Program.
What does the Trident Swim Foundation Swimmer Scholar Program do?
Trident Swim Foundation’s mission is to recruit inner city youth to become competitive swimmers and to combine swim training with tutoring, SAT preparation and college applications. Trident’s Swimmer Scholar Program combines the lifelong benefits of tough and disciplined swim-training with academic rigor.
Where does your cash go?
Tridents Swimmer Scholar Program is fee free to participants and covers pool time, coaching, suits and equipment, nutritional snacks, teacher-mentored tutoring, SAT preparation and guidance in college applications.
What are the results of your donations?
New York City inner city kids learn discipline, teamwork and focus through the rigors of competitive swimming while receiving academic mentoring
SAT scores go up by 300 points on average
Almost all of Trident’s Swimmer Scholars have gone on to 4 year accredited universities. Trident has graduates in schools including Colgate, SUNY Binghamton, St. Bonaventure and CUNY
Swimming is a life-saving skill, not just another sport. Many inner-city kids simply don’t have access to swimming lessons and are the victims of drowning accidents at an disproportionally high rate. You are helping end these awful stats!
Trident’s Swimmer Scholars become great swimmers and while they complete their high-school and college, many of Trident’s Swimmer Scholars become lifeguards, and in addition to saving lives, they have well-paying summer jobs
