Meet Ruth Haas, one of the Angel athlete riders from the Hampton Roads chapter of Ainsley's Angels. She was born in China and adopted by her mother, Nancy. Ruth was born with multiple disabilities, inclusing Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Being included in the running experience has been a positive experience in the lives of Ruth and her mom. Ruth may be nonverbal, but she is fully aware of the races she participates in, readily jumping into her race chair. Team Ruth will include Angel runners from the Hampton Road chapter of Ainsley's Angels, Tanya Hernandez-McInerney & Sparrow Haynie. Please support our team as we train and work to fundraise on behalf of Ainsley's Angels of America. 50% of our fundraising efforts will go back directly to our home chapter, and the other half goes to Ainsley's Angels of America. This amazing organization is a big family with a meaningful mission - to include and assist children and adults with disabilities in endurance events. Inclusion and teamwork are hallmarks of the Ainsley's Angels family, and I'm honored that Ruth, Sparrow, and I will help spread their mission as we run 26.2 miles together. We would appreciate any amount you can give to help us reach our goal! Two ways to donate are: 1) Click donate on the crowdrise page & be sure to scroll down to the AA in Hampton Roads, VA chapter OR 2) write a check payable to Ainsley's Angels of America and mail to: AAA, P.O. Box 6287, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. When writing a check be sure to put "Team Ruth" in the notes on your check so the funds go to our team!
